Pilbara Area Lithium Activity
As a mining area, Western Australia is home to some of the largest lithium mines in the world and has emerged as a significant world supplier of lithium.
- In 2017, Mineral Resources (ASX: MIN) Wodgina Lithium Mine began production of one of the world’s largest, hard rock lithium operations.
- Pilbara Minerals (ASX: PLS) Pilgangoora lithium operation, and Global Lithium Resources Marble Bar Lithium Deposit, are also located in the Pilbara mining region.
- December 2021, Chilean lithium producer SQM (Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile NYSE: SQM) announced a joint venture with Kalamazoo Resources (ASX: KZR) on KZR’s Dom’s Hill Lithium Project.
- The Oz Lithium Corp. Cuprite West and Cuprite East Projects are strategically located on either side of the KZR Dom’s Hill Property.

Attractive Lithium Assets in Pilbara, Western Australia
OZ Lithium holds claim to seven mineral tenements in five distinct districts in Pilbara: Nortia, Cuprite West & East, Tyche, Fortuna & Beatons River – delivering Oz Lithium a sizeable prospective lithium, gold and base metals footprint across the Pilbara region in Western Australia.
The Pilbara region has a recent history of lithium production, beginning in 2017 with Mineral Resources (ASX: MIN) Wodgina Lithium Mine, which is among the world’s largest hard rock lithium operations. Pilbara Minerals (ASX: PLS) Pilgangoora lithium operation, and Global Lithium Resources Marble Bar Lithium Deposit, are also located in the Pilbara mining region.
Nortia Project
The Nortia Project comprised of 19 blocks totaling 5,510 hectares is located 30 kilometers east of the historic mining town of Nullagine.
On a reconnaissance visit in February 2022, five pegmatite float samples were obtained from the south-west portion of the claim group.
All five ran anomalous values of lithium ranging from 8.3 ppm Li to 74.1 ppm Li. Results indicate there may be insitu pegmatites which potentially host higher Li values.
Cuprite West & East Project
The Cuprite West & East Project comprises two tenements (109km2), circa 50km north-west of Marble Bar, that are deemed highly prospective for lithium and base metal mineralization.
The Cuprite East (6,936 hectares) and Cuprite West (2,980 hectares) Projects are strategically located on either side of the KZR Dom’s Hill Property.
A recent 1,246 soil sample program was completed with results expected in the near future. A LANDSAT program was commissioned with Perry Remote Sensing, LLC, of Denver Colorado.
The sensor work is ongoing with a full report expected in May. Results will be utilized to guide the field crew for onsite exploration.
Beatons River Project
The Beatons River Project is comprised of two tenements that total 335 square kilometers and is contiguous to Novo’s Beatons Creek Gold Deposit, which hosts 903,000 oz Au grading 2.53 gpt Au. Novo’s Beatons Creek Gold Deposit is hosted within gold bearing conglomerates of the Hardey Formation that outcrop on the eastern edge of a Fortescue Group Plateau that accumulated in the Nullagine sub- basin. The Western Australia Gelogical Survey below, has mapped the area, and interpreted the Hardey Formation extends onto the Australian Goldfields tenemants 2km north of the Beatons Creek Gold Deposit. The project’s target is gold bearing conglomerates within the Hardey Sandstone Formation, part of the Fortescue Group, a sequence of sedimentary and volcanic rocks. Minimal exploration has been conducted on the Australian Goldfields properties, and the first stage of exploration will comprise mapping and outcrop sampling. NOTE: mineralization on adjacent projects is not indicative of mineralization on the Company’s project.
Beatons River Conglomerate
Tyche and Fortuna Projects
The Tyche Project sits over the two stratigraphic units of the Fortescue Group which comprise the Hardey and Kylena Formations. Encouragingly, the Hardey Formation, which has been mapped across 90% of the tenure area is typically linked with gold mineralization. The Kylena Formation, which is present on the eastern boundary, has been known to host elevated gold in quartz veins within basalt. Meanwhile, within the Fortuna Project, the Hardey Formation is present across 22% of the tenure, which is the first priority target.
